What did you do this past week?
This past week I had like 3 interviews which was crazy. I also finished a lot of projects and had 2 exams. Needless to say it was a very busy week. I studied a little bit but not much. I don’t really study anymore, I just try to pay attention in class and then do as best as I can on the exams. I have given up on school.
What’s in your way?
Honestly Symbolic Programming with Novak is in my way. Everybody said the class was soooooo easy so I took it. I hate it with a freaking passion. It is so boring, the assignments are difficult for me because I hate LISP/Clojure and this class will in no way help me in my career. I seriously hate this class and am going to drop it even if it means I become a part time student.
What will you do next week?
Next week I will probably spend doing LeetCode. I don’t have many interviews scheduled for this upcoming week so I will probably be pretty free just to practice interview questions.
If you read it, what did you think of Why Is Silicon Valley So Awful to Women?
Haven’t read it yet.
What was your experience of arrays, equal(), and iterators? (this question will vary, week to week)
They were okay. It wasn’t the most interesting lecture and I was honestly really confused as to why equal() is even a thing but okay. Iterators are okay I guess. I never really know if the way Downing teaches these things is actually how they are used in C++ or if he is just teaching us the barebones way of doing things and people actually use libraries instead.
What made you happy this week?
I got to go home and see my family which was freaking awesome. I also had my Stripe interview which I was really nervous/excited about. I am waiting to hear back from them next week so that will be exciting.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My tip of the week is understand that not everything in life revolves around your GPA. Try to not focus so hard on classes that you neglect personal growth by spending times with your friends and family and doing personal projects of high impact. All of these things will benefit you in the long run more than just focusing on every class you take.
