1. What did you do this past week?

This past week I spent most of my time just working on class work. I also was making a few trips to grocery stores to buy all the stuff I needed to buy for Valentine’s Day.

2. What’s in your way?

Honestly, I’m taking a class for my US core history credit called Early Coastal Communities in America and it’s all about the commerce of shipping and the lives of sailors and Atlantic history, and it’s so much reading and so boring. It took up so much of my time this week and the class feels so pointless and uninteresting I hate it. It was my third backup for my US core history credit, and it makes me really upset. Oh well, it is what it is.

3. What will you do next week?

Next week I’ll probably try to play some more video games. I feel like I haven’t given myself enough time to play video games. I also will probably start a new book and try to do more LeetCode problems to prepare for interview next fall.

4. What was your experience of Project #1: Collatz (the problem, the overkill requirements of submission, etc.)? (this question will vary, week to week)

I thought the project was actually pretty fine. I thought optimizing Collatz was an easy enough yet interesting enough problem that it kept me engaged, and I honestly thought it was interesting getting acquainted with all the technologies they use in the real world like linters, code formatters and version control.

5. What made you happy this week?

Valentine’s Day was wonderful! I had a really lovely time with my girlfriend, and we made this super yummy lamb dish, it was seriously so delicious. We did, however, set off the fire alarm in 2400 Nueces but that’s not important.

6. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is to learn about personal finance. I think that there is much value in learning how to handle your money, how to invest, etc. It’s super important to start early as well, and as most of us will be entering the real world within a year or two, it’s a good time to start now!
