1. What did you do this past week?

This past week I mainly focused on finishing up coursework and applying to a lot of companies. I mainly did work for symbolic, as it took quite a long time to learn Clojure. Applying also takes a lot of time because you have to research companies and then you have to fill out a million different applications.

2. What’s in your way?

Honestly school now. I am more productive now that my girlfriend and I are living in our own apartments instead of with each other but now school has picked up and I have less time for recruiting. I kinda want to just forget about school and do only recruiting until I’m done because it stresses me out.

3. What will you do next week?

Next week I will most likely continue to grind Leetcode and apply to jobs.

4. What was your experience of Collatz, the starter code, the makefile, its optimizations, and exceptions? (this question will vary, week to week)

It was actually just what I expected after because AI had already taken Downing’s Software Engineering course in which we did this same project but in Python. The makefile is slightly new to me but I have some experience with makefiles. Not sure I would be able to write my own. Everything I understood pretty well but I have a tendency to zone out a little during zoom lectures…

5. What made you happy this week?

Finishing my symbolic homework. I also received some Hackerrank assessments from some companies so I’m excited to get my feet wet with that. Additionally spending time with my girlfriend always makes me happy. She is a lot of fun.

6. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is to practice mindfulness. It is very relaxing and has scientifically been shown to have a lot of health benefits! I would do like 1 basic course to learn how to meditate but then after that you don’t need to bother anymore with the guided meditations. Just find a comfortable place to sit, close your eyes, relax and try to just focus on your breath for as long as you wish!
