What did you do this past week?

This past week I drove probably about 24 hours in the car from Austin to Dallas to Missouri and back. Well really my girlfriend drove but I drove part of it. We had to drive out there because my girlfriend is immune-compromised and so she really didn’t want to fly. She had an onsite with P&G which she is pretty sure she got which is pretty rad. Yeah but this took up a really large percentage of my time…

What’s in your way?

School, I have a lot of interviews and stuff and I’m still really busy with school. I just want to prepare for my microsoft interview as well as a few others but I really just haven’t had much time because I’ve been so busy helping out my girlfriend with various things but after this upcoming Monday I should be much more free to do work.

What will you do next week?

Next week I will start and finish the OOP project and then get started on grinding leetcode in preparation for all my interviews…

If you read it, what did you think of The Liskov Substitution Principle?

It was okay.

What was your experience of Test #1? (this question will vary, week to week)

Test #1 was okay. I felt like problem #1 was really difficult but maybe I am just dumb. Sometimes I hate getting the types to work together in C++ but I suppose it is a big strength of the language. Oh well…

What made you happy this week?

I got a return offer from the company I interned with but as of lately I have just been comparing myself to those more successful than me and it’s been really taking a toll on my mental health. I’m not sure what to do about it except give it time… I don’t know…

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip-of-the-week is to learn data structures and algorithms by heart by implementing them yourself without consulting other resources if you can. This will make you a better programmer.
