What did you do this past week?
This past week I was extremely busy. I had interviews with Microsoft, Indeed, and Qualtrics. I haven’t heard back from Microsoft’s final round and I advanced to the final rounds of Indeed and Qualtrics which is pretty cool I suppose. I have been kinda going cookoo-crazy waiting to hear back from Microsoft and it’s been taking a toll on my mental health.
What’s in your way?
Nothing much is really in my way to be honest. I do have this OOP project that I’ve been procrastinating but hopefully it wont’ be too bad. After this next week I will have nothing in my way.
What will you do next week?
Next week I will finish up the OOP project and do the final rounds for Qualtrics and Indeed. After that I’m going to party like crazy.
If you read it, what did you think of The Interface Segregation Principle?
I read it. I made my annotations and then I turned it in.
What was your experience of continuing to implement std::vector? (this question will vary, week to week)
I kinda like how we are implementing std::vector. It is a cool way of teaching us how to write good classes the proper way while also teaching us how vector works, which I imagine is one of the most useful data structures in C++.
What made you happy this week?
For Halloween my girlfriend and I partied together. We almost invited somebody but turns out that someone they were close with tested positive for COVID so she didn’t end up coming. We ended up making a three course meal using a fondue pot. We made cheese fondue, a broth fondue, and chocolate fondue and they were amazing. I highly recommend getting a fondue pot.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
I think I might recommend an online forum like r/cscareerquestions or teamblind. It is sometimes nice to have some people giving career advice but it is a double edged sword. Both of these forums can be toxic at times. It would be best to get career advice from people you actually know but sometimes what people post in these forums can be kinda useful.
