What did you do this past week?

This past week I started working on the Life project for this class. I so far am passing the HackerRank for ConwayCell but that’s it. I also mainly just chilled out. For those who read my other blog posts this semester they knew I had been interviewing at a lot of places. I now finally got a job at Microsoft.

What’s in your way?

Absolutely nothing is in my way except sometimes my ADHD really keeps me from sitting down and getting a lot of work done. I used to be able to control it pretty well but I’m thinking about getting back on medicine even though it really depresses me.

What will you do next week?

Next week I will be straight chilling. I probably won’t be doing much work to be honest… Just relaxing.

If you read it, what did you think of What Happens to Us Does Not Happen to Most of You?

I read it and it made me pretty sad. I feel pretty strongly about women in STEM and it’s really sad to hear how a few girls can get their moral ruined by just a few jerks… I wish there was a great solution but it seems like it will be a difficult battle to rid all fields of people like this…

What was your experience of inheritance? (this question will vary, week to week)

It was kind of what I expected but I felt like Downing didn’t really go as in depth with it as he normally does. Perhaps he will continue to go more in-depth as we continue.

What made you happy this week?

This week I am going home to see my family after not seeing them all semester! I am super happy. My girlfriend is coming home with me and we are going to have such a good time and play tennis and ride bikes and eat good food. Yum.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

Hm… My tip-of-the-week is to wake up early. I know so many computer scientists have such messed up sleep schedules. Go to bed early and get 7–8 hours of sleepy everyday.
