What did you do this past week?

This past week I mainly just wallowed in depression. I got rejected from a company I really wanted to work for and I had no other interviews lined up so I just kinda sat there doing nothing.

What’s in your way?

School. I have been failing lots of my classes and had to Q-Drop a class everybody says is extremely easy (Symbolic Programming) because I was making the lowest grades in the class consistently. I actually have a really high GPA but this semester I have had really low motivation to try at school since it’s my last year and I would rather focus on interviewing and side projects.

What will you do next week?

Next week I will probably just keep vibin. I have an interview the 27th but not much else until then. Oh also, I am road tripping to Missouri with my girlfriend this week which should be fun. I like a good road trip and staying in hotels.

If you read it, what did you think of The Open-Closed Principle?

Haven’t read it yet but I assume it will teach me more about object oriented design principles.

What was your experience of iterator concepts, std::array, and std::vector? (this question will vary, week to week)

Seems like std::vector is preferable to std::array but I kind of forgot the difference between the two, whoops. I am not entirely sure if this is exactly how people use iterators in actual C++. If so, things seem a little verbose as compared to python…

What made you happy this week?

I don’t know. I have been watching Long Way Up with my girlfriend and the thought of traveling more excites me a lot. I am also looking forward to finishing up recruiting so I can just play TONS OF VIDEO GAMES.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is to switch to Mac if you normally develop on Windows. I really love Windows and I don’t actually really like Apple all that much, but developing on a Mac is just so much easier because of the Linux kernel.
